Schmelnoz

I’ve been thinking about my old friend Schmelnoz the Incomprehensible a lot lately.  I haven’t heard from him since the Timeline Breach.  I don’t know if he even exists in this Timeline.  And I’m pretty sure that even if he did he wouldn’t know me anyway, since we’ve never even met in the current Timeline.

Or have we..?

Schmelnoz did once tell me that he had met me once in another Timeline.

Or another Timeline’s version of me anyway.

He said I had a moustache and goatee.

Here Comes Chimpanzee Mouse Dog Chicken Mosquito Fruit Fly Cow Platypus Man!

I was just reading where the DNA of man, chimpanzee, mouse, dog, chicken, mosquito, fruit fly, cow and platypus have now all been sequenced.

It’s funny.  In every Timeline I have ever lived in or heard of (my old friend Schmelnoz once told me about several he had lived in), the DNA of man, chimpanzee, mouse, dog, chicken, mosquito, fruit fly, cow and platypus always are the first to get sequenced.

And the scientists always end up doing the same thing.

You probably think I’m kidding.

Ok…

So I just found out today that in this Timeline “Patience is a virtue” is actually a quite common expression.

And I have to say I think it’s a good one.

In my timeline the expression was “Humility is a virtue.”

Which I also think was a good one.

But you’ve got to understand what true humility is.

It’s essentially just being entirely open and honest with yourself and others.

But here it seems like everyone thinks it means not admitting to anything good about yourself, or in other words accentuatuating the negative and making one’s self  out to be less than one really is.

That’s not humbling yourself, and I don’t consider it to be a virtue at all .

True humilty is rarely seen in this day and age, and the ironic part is that false humility is all too often really just pride in disguise.

A Couple Things I’ve Learned With Age

1.)  You don’t always have to tell everything you know.

2.)  Patience is a virtue.

They say write what you know.

Problem is, I can’t say I really know all that much.

But I know a little.

In other words, posting something just for the sake of posting something.

Bloggers do it all the time.

It’s just that most of them aren’t honest about it.

Blog, blog, blog.

(Which is my way of saying, “Blah, blah, blah.”)
